Northshore Cookery of Highland Park, announced this week the launch of their new on-line Gift Registry Service, the first of its kind for a cooking school in the state of Illinois.
Northshore Cookery’s new “state of the art” gift registry service provides on-line access to gift lists, on-line ordering of gifts, toll-free and on-line support, and trained store staff to assist guests and registrants alike through registration or purchase of gifts.
“Our Gift Registry Department provides local, national and international access to our registrants’ lists via the internet, a tremendous advantage to our customers and our community,” says Marc Lapides, Owner.
"Best of all, given our unique concept of cooking school, caterer and retail store, we offer a distinctive program designed to help newlyweds get a little something extra for their weddings – a concept not available from any of the traditional wedding registry retailers. For any bride and groom registered at Northshore Cookery, we offer a 15% rebate to them to use any way they like at Northshore Cookery. For example, should they register here and their guests purchase $5000 of wedding gifts, they would have $750 to spend in our retail store, on our gourmet catering services, on Northshore Cookery’s wide range of cooking classes, or to hold a private function in our store. "
In addition, rather than simply “walking and guessing,” as owner Lapides likes to call it, Northshore Cookery chefs will help couples make the right cookware selections for them.
Registrations are available for all gourmet cookware and gift products, cooking classes and gourmet cooking tools alike.
Until now, individuals could only create gift lists and bridal registries at major department stores and were not able to take advantage of the practical product mix offered by a school and store like Northshore Cookery of Highland Park. Today, with this new service, anyone can create their own, original and complete gift registry, men and women alike. Whether the occasion is a wedding, a house warming or just your personal holiday wish list, you can now do it all at Northshore Cookery.
The Northshore Cookery Store and School are located at 600 Central Avenue, Ste. 130, Port Clinton Square, in Highland Park, a short 30 minutes from downtown Chicago.

During her treatment she required several blood transfusions and platelet infusions, it was because of the generosity of friends, family and strangers that she was able to receive exactly what she needed, when she needed it. Many patients have to wait precious moments for blood or platelets when needing a transfusion. These moments can mean the difference between life and death. When you donate blood you are helping at least 3 people in need. If you're unable to attend our event, please consider donating when you are able at Kaiser or any donor center close to your location.
Patients with leukemia and other life-threatening blood disorders need bone marrow donors who are a very close or exact genetic match. The chance of finding a family member who is a match is just 1 in 25. And even with a registry of over 13 million, only about 50% of patients ever find a non-family member donor match. The unbelievable fact is, that there is only a 2% chance that bone marrow registrant will ever be called!
Donors of all diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are needed. Those with a varied ethnic background are also in great demand. Adding more potential donors from all racial and ethnic backgrounds to the registry increases the likelihood that all patients will find the match they so desperately need. Let's make sure no patient ever has to wait for the procedure that could save their life! It's so easy to join! All it takes is 4 swabs from the inside of your mouth!
