Catalog Gift Nautical

When we left off we had just boarded the boat.
After our captains declared we had reached ‘the spot’ they cut the engines and we got ready to process down the aisle. We lined up just like we had practiced the night before, and Mr. Gloss gave the “we’re ready” sign. I really don’t know who he was signaling to – but clearly somebody got the message because our music started playing and it was time to get married!!!
Our wedding party walked out to River Flows in You by Yiruma
The guys went first…
… and then our parents went next My mom couldn’t resist picking at the flowers when she was sitting down - not surprising.
They were followed by my lovely ladies…
Glossy Gal A
Glossy Gal E
Glossy Gal M
Glossy Gal K
and my Maid of Honor M.
My groom was waiting for us.
And the music changed to ‘I Love N.Y.E.’ by Badly Drawn Boy and that was the signal for my Dad and me.
Our aisle was short—very short—and also very narrow (hence the ’shortest walk of my life’ title). These are not things I had thought out properly and you can see my face in the above picture read, ’oh, no - I’m not going to fit’. My dress really wasn’t ‘big’ as big dresses go, but I was hard pressed to fit down the aisle with my dad beside me without tearing my dress on the ugly metal chair legs. So I kind of ran ahead – excited much?
I also forgot to pause at the actual ‘start’ of the aisle for people to rise – so our guests were in the process of standing as I breezed by on my 4-second aisle walk. It was not a big deal, but I wish I had thought about it before I booked it down the aisle. I think I totally win the award for most awkward aisle walk ever.
Someone really should have reminded me that it was not a race.

I know St. Patrick's Day isn't really one of the traditional gift-giving holidays, but just in case you feel like springing for a little something, here are some of my favorite ideas.
Belleek is pretty much the standard Irish gift, it's Ireland's version of Lenox and it's so pretty. I love this charming little teapot shaped like a castle, on sale for $132.75 at Drake House Gifts.
If china isn't your thing, how about crystal? I adore Waterford and I really love these little juice glasses that double as votive holders. These would be a great Waterford starter piece, on sale for $19.99 at Waterford.
Connemara marble is an Irish classic. Mined from the hills of Northern Ireland it's naturally green and oh so Irish. How cute is this little tea light holder? $14.50 at Simply Irish.
Since the Irish are all about the green, how about some green gifts for you?
I love the nautical stripes on this organic cotton pullover. And the best part? It's only $8.00 at WalMart.
And what better way to relax after a long day of pinching people who aren't wearing green than by settling in to bed with these 325 thread-count organic cotton sheets? $24.99 to $49.99 at Target.
And lastly, I know this little guy isn't Irish or organic, but he's green and too cute not to include! Home Grown Cabbage Dog, only $10.79 at Grandma's Giftware.
