Birthday Gift Idea For 10 Year Old Girl

DS2's girlfriend is having her Sweet 16 party at a local restaurant in a few weeks. I'm not familiar with this whole concept....although DS2 has gone to a couple other girls' parties already this year...they seem to run the gamut from house parties to dress up events (like this).
ANyways, long story short, he needs to get her a nice gift. Anyone have suggestions on what a 16 year old girl would enjoy? He can't give her a gift card - that's too impersonal for a GF, I think.
My ideas are jewelry - either something with her birthstone (aquamarine and real, not created) or a necklace or bracelet from Tiffanys....looking in the $100-150 price range.
What do you think??
TIA,

When I was in 3rd grade, we found out a few months into the school year that they were splitting up Josh's 4th grade class and creating two 3rd/4th grade split classes. My mom went to our school to ensure that Josh and I would NOT be in the same classroom for the rest of the year and they assured her that we wouldn't be. Well.... what do you think happened? We both walked into the same classroom one morning and I started to cry! Yeah, it was absolute torture for me and I'm positive he enjoyed every minute of it! The next year, we both tested and got accepted into the advanced placement class that was made up of 4th/5th/6th graders and shared a classroom again! And it was again pure torture of course, but looking back now, it was pretty awesome.
Here's an infamous picture of Josh and James at the cottage we would rent for a week on Conesus Lake every summer while visiting New York. Warming up against the fridge after a dip in the lake... they were the best of buds (most of the time!)
What's up brace face? Josh got braces a few months before I did - and we both had them for 3.5 years! The Ayers kids were Dr. Taylor's best customers. Here he is wearing his Snohomish all-star baseball cap and a Syracuse sweatshirt (a Christmas gift from our grandparents no doubt!)James & Josh on our front porch on the first day of school in 1993. James was in 11th grade and Josh in 9th grade in this picture, and yes, they are the same height (sorry James!)
Here is Josh and his pretty date Julie going to Tolo one year - I can't tell if it's Josh's junior or senior year in high school, but he cleans up well doesn't he? :)
